The Grade 3s spent Earth Day at Evergreen Brickworks. We hiked the trails to learn about plants and seeds. We were able to pick some seeds and plants that were growing and we tasted dill, chives, sumach, and even some edible flowers. In groups, we planted some mystery seeds in little cups that we made out of newspaper. We can’t wait to see what will grow….maybe a magical beanstalk. We ended our tour by making and drinking tea after a hike through the quarry. If you haven’t made the trip to Brickworks, the Grade 3’s recommend getting out there this Spring to explore the wonderful world of nature where you may spot turtles, beavers, and muskrats.
