Junior Girls Basketball
On Wednesday October 1st, the Junior Girls Basketball Team played their third game of the season against Country Day School. The team got off to a big lead and never looked back. With great plays from Rain Korab, Chelsea Baijnauth, Sydney Steinman, Jahnai Brown, and Minami Morris, the game was well in hand. The girls played like a team, distributing the ball very well and working extremely hard on the defensive end. The final score was 44 – 27, for Crestwood. On a 2 game winning streak, we look to win our third game of the season against The York School on Monday October 6th. Mr. Pagano and Mrs Reay would like to send a special mention as well to Donna Dong, Ivy Lu, Tao Tao, and Jessica Weinberg for great team play.
Junior Boys Soccer
Wednesday October 3rd the Junior Boys Soccer Team travelled to play against Upper Canada College. CPC overcame three deficits of one goal to thrillingly beat the home side 5-3. The boys showed their resilience as they refused to be down each time to tie before goals by Spencer Cohen and Julia Lee sealed the win. The other goals came compliments of Matthew Yanovsky, Braden Harris, who finished the day with 2 goals. To make things more impressive the game represented CPC’s second game in three days. The team is currently 1 tie and 1 win for the season, as it looks to continue its unbeaten streak against Greenwood on October 8th.
U14 Girls Basketball
Congratulations to the U14 Girls Basketball Team who defeated Greenwood College on Wednesday October 1st. Marina Nevison and Megan Pearlman lead the way offensively and Georgia Gardner was a defensive force to be reckoned with! Once again it was a great team effort and everyone should be proud of their game. Our next game is Monday versus TMS!
U14 Boys Soccer
Crestwood’s U14 Boys Soccer team played their second game of the season yesterday against Trinity College. The boys got out to a slow start, and were down 1-0 after the first ten minutes. Crestwood then tied the game up early in the second half with a beautiful goal from Angelina Audette, who headed the ball in off of a perfectly placed header by Josh Soloman. Unfortunately, a second goal by Angelina was called back on a very close offside call, and despite Crestwood being the better team in the second half, Trinity was able to pull ahead for good, with a goal from a corner kick with ten minutes to go. Congratulations to the entire team, who were unfortunately hard luck losers, in a game they definitely deserved to win.
