Advanced Placement
Students may take an AP course in conjunction with their regular high school courses and commit additional time to the necessary AP workload. Students also write their AP exam at an earlier date in May, and regular exams are in June. In July, these results are reported to the candidates, Crestwood and designated universities. Although these results do not affect admission to university, once registered, many universities in Canada, and most in the United States, grant transfer credits based on successful AP results. Students wishing to take an AP course MUST register with the subject teacher of the prerequisite course before commencing an AP course at Crestwood.
Grade 11/12 AP courses are offered at Crestwood Preparatory College in the following subjects:
- Physics
- Computer Science
- French
- Spanish
- Biology
- English Language
- American History – Grade 11
- World History
- Visual Arts
- English Literature
- Chemistry
- Economics
NOTE: Students must have the recommendation of the teacher of the previously completed prerequisite course in order to register for an AP course.
